This two-week trip from Delhi to Varanasi combines the most important sights of North India with some original and exciting activities such as a desert came  l trek, a jeep safari and a boat trip on the Ganges River. Much more than just a sightseeing tour, the Rajasthan Safari is an Indian experience! We visit the palaces and forts that give this desert state its remarkable diversity. Taking every opportunity to get off the beaten track, we spend two days cycling through Indian villages and enjoy a three-day camel safari in the Thar Desert. We visit delightful desert towns like Pushkar and Jaisalmer, we stay at a Maharaja’s palace in
Sariska and Daspan and also visit the holy city of Banaras (Varanasi) on the banks of the Ganges. With so many highlights it is easy to see why this remains one of our most popular trips. |

Day to Day Itinerary
|

| |
Day 01: Arrive Delhi, transfer to hotel Afternoon sightseeing tour of New Delhi, including the Bahai Temple, Qutab Minar and Humayun’s Tomb |

Day 02: Train. Free morning Afternoon sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, including the Jama Masjid Mosque, the Rajghat and the Red Fort. In the evening board the sleeper train for jodhpur. |
|

Day 03: Jodhpur. Visit the Meherangarh fort, one of India’s most impressive. Overnight in Jodhpur. |
|
| |
Day 04 Jaisalmer. Early morning departure by coach for a journey through the Thar desert to the walled city of Jaisalmer. Afternoon free to explore this fascinating medieval town. |
|
| |
Day 05-06: Camel Safari. Riding camels, we explore the wilderness of the Rajasthani desert. Our Safari staff look after you well. Tents, mattresses, blankets and sheets and all meals will be provided. |

Day 07: Jaisalmer. Morning return to Jaisalmer where the remainder of the day is free. |
|
| |
Day 08: Daspan. Early morning departure to Daspan, where we stay in an old Haveli. We drive via Ranakpur (with the most beautiful Jain temples in India) to the lake city of Udaipur. |
|

Day 09: Udaipur. Morning sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Free afternoon. |
|

Day 10: Udaipur. |

Day 11: Pushkar. Early morning departure to Pushkar, a delightful little desert oasis. |
|

Day 12: Pushkar. We have a whole day at leisure here. |

Day 13: Jaipur. Popularly known as the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur is the capital of the state of Rajasthan. Afternoon city tour |

Day 14: Jaipur. A morning visit to the splendid Amber fort is followed by a free afternoon. |
|
| |
Day 15: Sariska. We cycle through the Indian country side to Sariska Tiger Reserve. Afternoon jeep safari through Sariska tiger sanctuary. |
|

Day 16: Bharatpur. Cycle from Sariska to Siliset, then drive to Bharatpur. In the afternoon we cycle though the Keoladeo bird sanctuary. |
|
| |
Day 17: Agra. Drive via the ancient Moghul Capital at Fatehpur Sikri to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. |
|
| |
Day 18: Agra. Time to enjoy the Taj Mahal, before an evening departure by sleeper train to Varanasi. |
|
| |
Day 19: Varanasi. Arrive Varanasi, morning at leisure. Afternoon excursion to Samath where where Buddha preached his first sermon. |
|
| |
Day 20: Varanasi. Sightseeing tour of Varanasi, including a boat trip on the Ganges and an excursion to the Old City. Overnight sleeper train to Delhi. |

Day 21: Delhi. Free Day in Delhi. |
|
| |
Day 22: Delhi. Tour ends after breakfast |
